Seven Progressive Conservative MLAs Endorse Daniel Allain for Party Leadership
Caucus members say Allain has the experience to govern and the reach to win, and is the candidate best-positioned to defeat the Holt government.
Seven members of the Progressive Conservative caucus today endorsed Daniel Allain for the leadership of the Progressive Conservative Party of New Brunswick, calling him the candidate best suited to unite the party, expand its membership, and defeat Susan Holt’s Liberals in the next election.
With the spring legislative session now closed, the members said it is time to focus on the leadership, and on a decision that will shape New Brunswick’s next government.
The members pointed to a province running a record deficit, a health system that costs more while delivering less, and families carrying one of the heaviest tax burdens in the country. New Brunswickers, they said, want a government that respects the money they earn, delivers the services they count on, and grows the economy without growing the bureaucracy.
Allain has the experience to deliver on this and the reach to win seats in every region of the province, they believe.
“I’ve worked alongside Daniel. He’s fair, he’s practical, and he listens before he decides. He works for all of New Brunswick,” said Michelle Conroy, MLA for Miramichi East. “That’s the leader who can bring this party together and beat Susan Holt, and that’s why he has my support.”
Bill Oliver, MLA for Kings Centre, agreed.
“This fall our members will choose a leader who will carry us into the next election, and I believe Daniel Allain is who we need to secure a win at the polls in 2028 and form the next government,” Oliver said. “Daniel has demonstrated that he can manage public money with discipline and build connections, and he has the experience to lead. He has the vision to return New Brunswick to a province that can proudly say it is well governed.”
