STATEMENT: Veterinary services are essential to the future of agriculture in New Brunswick. Farmers depend on timely, accessible, and affordable veterinary and laboratory support to protect animal health, food safety, and rural livelihoods.

The government’s rushed transition plan has created uncertainty, weakened trust, and risks driving more veterinarians out of the system. We must immediately pause these changes and restart a transparent consultation process with veterinarians, producers, agricultural organizations, and stakeholders. Practical solutions exist, but they require collaboration and accountability.

As leader of the PCNB, I will fight to protect veterinary services, strengthen rural communities, and ensure New Brunswick agriculture remains strong, sustainable, and competitive for future generations.
